Director's Message

Welcome to Ukiah Adult School's Vocational Nursing Program!

We have been preparing students for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) and for entry-level employment in places like hospitals, clinics, skilled nursing facilities and physician's offices for more than 40 years.

Vocational nurses work under the guidance of a registered nurse or licensed physician to provide basic care for people experiencing a wide range of health problems. Our students and graduates have the privilege of caring for members of our community in a variety of health care settings. Many of our graduates go on to become RNs.

The faculty and staff focus is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) and to succeed in a vocational nursing career.

Our instructional program is a combination of classroom instruction, laboratory practice and clinical experience.

Our faculty members aren't just instructors, they are mentors who help prepare students for the real-world challenges of vocational nursing.

Our program partners with healthcare providers and facilities in the area for clinical experiences in areas that are likely to provide future employment.
